Default Searches...not so good

One day I started to download a file and it stopped at 62%. 3 weeks later with my computer running all day and me constantly trying to resume download, it's stuck at 62% still. My friend's have done searches for the exact same thing I'm looking for and they find it. I just don't get it.......anyone have some clarity?

Try & re-search the topic. See if you can browse them. Browsing can sometimes re-invigorate an incomplete file to start downlding.

I've already done all that (a thousand times in fact). I just don't get why I can't get this stuff, not like I have a dial-up modem anymore. The only thing a cable modem is doing is faster downloading when I'm lucky enough to find someone willing to let me share.

Just incase anyone wanted to help....the file is "Tru Calling 2-05.mpg" @431.8MB.

Are you sure. DivX player & VLC are usually very reliable for avi files.
VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site) & what it can & can't play: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html & DivX player: http://www.divxmovies.com/players/

Other avi specific players: http://www.itzalist.com/com/avi-player-download.html
http://www.hyplay.com/free_avi_player_download.htm & http://www.karawin.fr/

GSpot will identify which codec you need: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

I think it might have to do with the fact that I have no .zip capability. Nothing works...as I said. Do you know why my searches dropped after that first few days? I mean I used to get alot of searches now I get nothing. No Season 2 searches especially. It's almost like it knows what I want and is not letting me have it.

Never mind, I figured out how to cut and paste it with my knowledge of computers. Lord of the Rings.........can you figure out my problems with this? My pc has been running for a few days without a restart, so I'm sure the memory is lagging a little bit.

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your Bug Report AFAIK. Nobody upldg or waiting to at that moment. But I was able to DC you.

I did another search for the item & got same results. No mpg for that file, only 12 avi's. Perhaps whoever has the mpeg is not online or has taken it out of their share. You said your friends could find it but are you sure that they identified the identical file & not the avi or a different episode by mistake. They might have looked at the size more than the file-name. There's other mpg episodes of the same size.

Java is not the most ram efficient. The newer version of Java is supposed to be a little more efficient. I notice you're still using Java 1.4.2, whereas the newer version is 1.5
