Default every file is corrupted!!

I just started using this version of limewire, and it kept popping up that files were corrupted, and I kept telling it to stop the downloads for the corrupted files. eventually I clicked the "always use this answer" checkbox, and now NONE of my finles will finish downloading! the song'll be all dl'd and then it'll do the little check thing, and find the file corrupted, and stop the dl. and now I can't find ANYWHERE where I could change that back to letting things FINISH!
can anyone help me out?

Normally I've not been having any problems, but I logged on today to download a few songs, and I have tried to download about 10 different songs and every single one of them is corrupted.

It is so annoying!!! Why do people have corrupted files anyway?

I get annoyed when I'm paying for a service and it is non-existant!!!

As many of you may have read, there are rumors that the enormous number of corrupt files (especially for newer music) may be because certain companies are trying to spread fake mp3s through the network - thereby reducing the likelyhood someone will be able to download a legitimate version of the song.

I've found blocking certain groups of hosts has helped *tremendously*. So, in Options->Filter->Hosts, I've blocked the following:

66.54.72.*
66.54.73.*
66.54.74.*
38.118.154.*
38.118.155.*
38.118.156.*

You could obviously use a mask, since they all follow a very similar pattern, but I just don't want to block more then I need to.

You'll get fewer results, but you'll be MUCH more likely to find a non-corrupt file, from what I've found so far.

Thanks for that information.

However, I just want to know.

If its that easy to block those IP addresses, why cant the owers of Limewire do it automatically to ensure they have a 'corrupt' free service.

Question well....

Here is all you need to know -

You are part of a netowrk when you use Limewire. You share files with others and they share with you. The more people who have part of a file will share with anyone who is missing even parts of thier files.

1. Leave your computer on all the time. Check Limewire and re-run your searches several times and then come back every hour or two to refresh those same searches. Do not close out your search when you are down. Leave the search window open until download is complete.

2. Try not to share bad files. Delete any virus or corrupt files as soon as possible. Use internet explorer and go to c:\program files\limewire\incomplete to delete corrupt data and old searches.

hope this helps our "little pirate" network. lol

Thanks. I was having the same problem. Adding these hosts to the blocked list has solved the problem.
