Dear People-I checked the troubleshooting FAQS again and no luck:(Am going to download Limewire 1.4 and see if that helps.Again, with Limewire v1.7,I download fine but when I launch the Realplayer window just pops up-The launched song title does not appear and no music!I had NO problems with an earlier version of Limewire.Has Realplayer changed?Again,ANY info is GREATLY appreciated!:)-Gearhead

Hello Again!`

Dear MicroK-Went to the FAQS and tried the first suggestion of downloading a program to decode a possible codec in my AV file-Site is temporarily down so I will try (and try again!) later.Went to reassociate the file type (although it was on extension :MES,MIME application-a2b music,Opens with Real JBX) and discovered that I also have Quicktime and Windows Media Player there also. But any of these SHOULD work ,correct?I will try to reassociate to Windows Media and see if that helps.I make microprocessors for a living and Limewire 1.4 gave me NO problems!:(Any help is greatly appreciated!Sincerely-Gearhead

Eureka!

Dear MK-Was fooling around and opened up Winmedia. All of my songs were there and played!Too wierd!I guess that Winmedia becomes the default player or somewhow overides Realplayer. What gives?Should I delete Realplayer or keep it?Is it a BAD thing to have more than one media player?Perlexed but happy.Again, any info greatly appreciated!:)-Gearhead

Hey MK!

Dear MK-Well,I took your suggestion and reassociated Realplayer as my default player.Wierdly enough,my audio plays through Realplayer and not Realjukebox after launching from Limewire. Also,I can still play my Gerry Rafferty through Winmedia-Too wierd!Any ideas on how to get Realjukebox to play my Limewire.Thanx again!:)-Gearhead.

Changing Default Player (Mac User)

Is it possible to change the default player to iTunes (or another player) and cut RealPlayer out of the loop entirely?

Julie Z February 27th, 2003 11:10 PM

I don't use iTunes, but I think I've read around here that in its preferences you can set it to be "used for internet playback" (as your default player).
