I have the latest Java but still getting poor dl speeds(>15Kb) and weak search responses. The system has slowed down alot as far as I can tell. But as hard as I look I can't do better elsewhere. Still wish the network would develop and improve , not start well only to peter out.

Slow speeds can be caused by a few different things. First, your slow speeds may be a result of the amount of activity on the Internet. Don't expect to get fast speeds any time between 4PM and 11PM. Second, your download speed may be limited by the host you are downloading from. This is not a problem with LimeWire or the Gnet. Good luck.

I can understand that speed can be slowed by busy time of internet use, but not for hours, cos my downloads takes hours to download one single song. WHY??????????

How are you connected to the internet (dial-up/cable/DSL/wireless/T1/T3/OC3)? Again it may be the host that you are downloading from. The person you are downloading from may be a dial-up user. Check the connection type of the host before you start the download. Good luck.
