home network file transfer problems

I have been transfering files from limewire to my xbox media center, and as of yesterday all files that I download will show up on my playlist on the xbox, but will not play. Does anyone know why this would happen? I'm baffled...Thanks

A playlist is simply a reference file that points to the location of the songs. If you later move the original location of the songs after the playlist was created then the playlist won't work.

Files still show but won't play...

I tried starting all over, and the files still show up on the xbox media center, but won't play...they only play on the pc...what the hell is going on...I'm using a linksys, and I set up a network, the ip addresses are in order, what could possibly be the problem here!

I know nothing about Xbox Media Center so I had to google it. lol :D (I suspect it's a setup issue.)

This is what I found out: ... be used to play and view most video/audio/picture formats such as MPEG/MPG, VOB, AVI, OGM, DivX, XVID, MP3, OGG, JPG, GIF and many more direct from a CD/DVD in the DVD-ROM or of the Xbox build-in hard disk drive, it can also play files over a network (LAN) from a PC via an "XStream Server" application or from a Windows (SMB) share. It has playlist + slideshow functions as well as the ability to function as a full replacement Xbox dashboard. These and more features enables the Xbox running XboxMediaCenter to fully function as a multi-media jukebox. XboxMediaCenter also known as "Xbox Media Center" or simply "XBMC".

Things that are not supported in XBMC yet:
- DVD-movie playback, - Audio Visualization, - Matroska file container, - Windows DLL's (WMV/WMA 9), - FTP-Server, - SHOUTcast, - TV-Guide

Note! Normal retail Xboxes require a modchip with hacked a BIOS for XboxMediaCenter to run.

However I did find some links worth checking out: Official website: www.xboxmediacenter.com

SourceForge Project Site: XBMC

Check out the XBMC Forum, I think they might be able to help: http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/cgi-bi...s/ikonboard.pl
