Angry Downloads really fast then slows to 0KB/s

Have been using Limewire for a few months now. Everything was great until about a week ago. I can connect and search fine but when I go to download, it goes superfast (sometimes around 100KB/s) for about 10 seconds and then starts to drop until it gets to 0KB/s and then stays there. Had the exact same problem with Winmx which is why I switched to Limewire. Sorry if I'm duplicating but can't seem to find this exact problem anywhere else.

Doesn't look as though my ISP is blocking anything or I would imagine I wouldn't even be able to connect and search for files. Tried a couple of the port tests I found in the forum and they seem to work fine too.

Am running XP with SP2, cable modem, Rogers.

Anybody else have this problem and or solution?

stief has a spectacular aura about
Default

That happens when you start downloading from multiple sources, and then the fast sources drop out, for whatever reason, and leave you with the slower or firewalled sources. This can also happen if the fast source is being throttled by its ISP, or if the fast source suddenly gets busy.

A "repeat seach" can sometimes help re-find those faster sources, but the results are inconsistent.

Did you see the posts about checking to see if you can accept incoming connections? That's the best test to ensure your setup is best configured for a clear connection to the gnutella network.

Default LW starts .. downloads slow to zero

I checked out the forum, and cannot find a solution .. I have AND 64 Processor, Nvidia nforce3, XP, cable modem, and have configured to NOT use the XP FW, configured as instructed to add Gnutella access in Nvidia FW, tried different versions of LW.. anyone have a clue or pointer to get me started on fixing this .. I get 50kbs plus speeds on downloads and in 30 seconds they all go to ZERO .. but on my IBM TP, attached to the same cable modem and NW provider, it works perfect ?????
