Question Is there a way to connect to specific servers?

Before all, hello to every one, admins, mods and usrs...

Here's my question in details :
I know i can add servers or hosts in the "connexions" menu of LW, but is there a way to find specific servers such as let's say, japanese or swedish one's, as i'm looking for specific contents using the native language of these countries?

I've noticed that i was usually connected to french (or european) ultrapairs (i live in france) and was wondering if there was a way to connect directly to other international hosts....(yes most of french people are open to world and consider themselves as citizens of the world with great eagerness but this is another subject )

I'v also noticed that in the preferences>speed menu, i could myself act as an ultrapair but with less search results... Shall i still act as one? (i have a T1 connection)

Thanx in advance for your advices!!!

Salut Mr D

-for a while in the Options Advanced, there was a setting for "Locale"

see if your LW still has it. If so, try the most recent version, where this option has been removed.

Re Ultrapeer setting, your searches should be just as good, if not better. Your connection is fast enough, but your router/firewalls must allow incoming connections. Search these forums for "accept incoming" to see how to check and set this up.

As for searching for specific servers, you would have to know the IP of that server. You could then enter that in the Direct Connect search type.

Another way would be to browse the hosts of search results that showed up in that language. As you know, your LW can set the interface to many languages from the View menu. This might make it easier to type keywords from the language you want.

Another trick is to turn on incoming searches in the Monitor Pane (works best as an Ultrapeer), and double-click search terms that show up in the script/language you wish to see. You can then try to browse the hosts of that file to see more files in that language.

cheers
