![]() You have to keep in mind it's almost a characteristic of LW or Gnutella that if you choose to downld more than you can or some have difficulty downlding then you will end up with incomplete files. You can use the resume function but i wouldn't recommend doing it on more than a couple at a time or else it may have side fx such as affect LW's connection quality. May queue your files for much much longer. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time. Also keep in mind that Gnutella clients are designed in a way to be healthy to the Gnutella network & not use up too much traffic with too many requeries & requests & searches which use up a lot of bandwidth. That's another reason why not to use the Resume/Find Sources in an irresponsible way. Some hints: * After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st. * A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. eg: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...028#post116028 Just as some xtra hints; re-search the topic of the files that are incomplete. Also if they have a chat icon next to them, see if you can browse them or else, browse similar results in the search results. This can often find other people who have the same file & thus urge on the file to continue downlding. ![]() Hello. I have slightly different problem but the thread title is apt, so I thought I might as well post it here. I've been downloading a fairly large .avi file a bit at a time, always from the one host. Now when I search for it and click download, it starts from the beginning. And when I hit resume on the existing incomplete file, it can't find sources. It's the same file! There's only been one host all this time and the file size and name has not changed. Why won't LW recognise my incomplete as the same file? mac g4 700 mhz, os 10.3.4 |

![]() yea i have been having the same problem. Ill turn limewire back on and the downloads wont restart. i have the number of days to keep incomplete files on really high and they are still in my computer. i resume them and they start back at zero even though i have most of the file already downloaded. ive tried resuming just one at a time and limewire still dosent recognize the already downloaded part. it will start downloading the incomplete file but starts at the beginning |
