Unhappy downloaded file types not changing

I just downloaded 1.7 and now all downloaded files remain "Limewire 17 Document"s and no longer convert to MP3s, etc. I wonder if it might have something to do with the JRE installation which is the only other thing I've changed on my system.

I'm running on Mac OS 8.6. A second partition on which I'm running OS 9 and where I haven't downloaded 1.7 or the new JRE works fine - MP3s turn inot MP3s, MPEGs into MPEGs, etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

yes and no. I downloaded macamp and it does change them to macamp files which will play on macamp as well as musicmatch (the desired jukebox). However I find it to be an inconvenience. i also can not use itunes because i am running 8.6 on the mac. and the extention on the file is .mp3, it's the file type that is a Limewire. I also would like to know if there are any other juke boxes besides music match that will enable me to burn to CD?
Thanks for your input
