LimeWire switched to Norwegian! Please Help! I d/l the latest version of L/W for Windows and now everything is in Norwegian. I can't read it so I uninstalled it thru Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. I rebooted and reinstalled it fresh (or so I thot). It is STILL in Norwegian. Can anyone help me with this catch-22 problem? Many thanks in advance Cheers, blazo |
My guess is you've downloaded unknowingly from a norwegian site. I may be wrong. Look on the bright side - it could have been FRENCH. (ever thought of learning norwegian - great for chatting up the birds but their beer is £8 a pint). |
..and you've got a hole in your envelope now. I must be contageous. |
I downloaded directly from LimeWire's site The Norwegian language conversion (from English) was a direct consequence of a download from LimeWire's native site (downloading v 4.8.1). I can't use LimeWire right now and I am sincerely needing some assistance with this. C'mon - where are all of you L/W experts? Cheers, blazo |
Here is the info... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...guage+limewire Weird about this so-called Norwegian takeover of the internet, huh ? Seems to be epidemic ! Or, just click here, http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36026 but you'll miss some posts from fellow-sufferers ! |
And, Thank you Filo... Bearing in mind your surname we are now all familiar with the traditional Saturnday night hobby of your isle ! ta ...not to imply that it doesn't go on Sunday mornings as well !!! |
Thank you Ursula.... Ursula - thank you very much for your assistance. I did what you suggested and it worked fine. Just for the record, the "Norwegian Conversion" happened several days after I d/l L/W 4.8.1 and it happened IN STAGES! The dialog boxes and other components of L/W "Norwegian-ized" in staggered steps. It was like some kind of weird Norwegian Virus attacking L/W! :) Thanks again, blazo |
Just when you thought the iraqi's were the problem, along come the norwegians. Cleaning lady: we've got big rats here. Massive white ones covered in fleece. And where is 'the land of milk and honey'? Blaso:Sorry m8, just trying to help. |
No worries No worries there Fido - your jest did fall on deaf ears because I married and divorced a Norwegian woman - as a matter of fact we were married in Asker-Baerum, Norway. Cheers to the Isle of Skye, blazo |
