Instantkarma is flying high
Default I've tried the other solutions but still downloads at 1kb/s

I have that one problem everyone else seems to have where my download speed is around 1kb/s. I have tried the bug test which came up false so I checked my firewalls windows was disabled and norton personal firewall had it on "permit" for limewire. I also have the filter so it only shows 4 star quality things. I just updated my java thing. I would try the port forwarding but I have no idea how to do that. I have win XP service pack 2, my isp is prairieinet and is satelite dsl, and my router is a Linksys Wireless-B Model No. BEFW11S4 ver.4. Thats all I can think of and I hope you get around to helping me because I just got limewire and it looks like it could be a very cool program if I could get it to work.

Instantkarma do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then either a firewall or connection device or isp provider could be the issue.

Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Try downlding a movie file from the following site: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml The magnet link will swap over to LW to downld. Here's an example of speeds you can potentially get if your service is this fast: Stief’s example: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...692#post138692

Ok it said false for the test, the download speed only went up to 1kb/s, and about the configure the firewall thing I have Norton personal firewall but I don't know how to "Add "javaw.exe" as a fully trusted application" I have clicked the link but I can't find the place where I can do that I can add it even with the help of the guide.

freemovement read this http://www.limewire.com/english/content/refund.shtml & this is NOT the LW site! This is a forum run by volunteers. You got problems then talk to them & customer support.

Instantkarma disable your XP firewall like this: go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box. Then follow these directions here: Configuring Norton Internet Security (2 active firewalls can interfere with each other so only keep one active one!)

']['echnics you are running as an ultrapeer which shows your set up is healthy. See some tips & xtra search & downld hints here: To continue files downlding (click on link) & follow all the off-shoot links.

Ok I made sure my windows firewall was off, which it was, and I already set my norton firewall to permit all for limewire. I'm going to call my isp and see if they block any ports like 6345 or whatever it is. Actually the support is closed on sundays and most of saturdays so ill have to wait till monday. Do you have any other ideas like could my router cause problems? Linksys Wireless-B Model No. BEFW11S4 ver.4 and i have satelite dsl if that could affect it

Hi. I'm in the same situation as Instantkarma. I've been searching the forums for days looking for suggestions to solve problem, but none work.

My connection is still stuck at 0 or 1 kb. I've already disabled Windows Firewall, and checked that Bit Defender's Firewall is giving Limewire full access. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both programs several times, reset Limewire's values to default a gazillion times hoping at some point it'll magically work. I even tried doing this without any firewall activated at all. Still, no dice. The bug test keeps coming out "false". Also, the download from magnetmix goes up to a 38 kb average, which is normal considering my connection is 512 cable and the crappy installations where I live. Are there any other suggestions?

I'm think it might be my reuter, as it freezes when I try to turn on MSN messenger. However, it hadn't had any problems with Limewire until Tuesday, and I didn't change any configs whatsoever that day. Should I try a system restore before that day to check if something changed or would that just be useless?
