Found A Solution For Slow 1kB/s Downloads (WORKED FOR ME)

hey. i think i have found a workable solution for the problems some of us here have been having...its been going on now wheather your a PRO or Standard LimeWire user. the downloads have been SUPER SLOW lately for some of us...which i think it has somthing to do with a WINDOWS UPDATE..cause this started happening after i had a windows update done. must have done somthing to LimeWire's Registry...anyways...

what i did to bring my downloads back to normal was...

in the "OPTIONS" section of the program there is a button in the bottom middle of the windows that says "Restore Defaults" i was curious and desprate to try anything so i tried it...i clicked that restore button then CLICKED APPLY..then COMPLETELY closed limewire and then restarted it. the only thing is it will run as "first run" you kno the configuration after installing...

and it will test your connection...etc

and ask to scan your computer for media files...etc

after all that was done and the program fully opened. i noticed it connected "TURBO CHARGED" (pro only) within a sec.
and my search results trippled. and when i started to download i was downloading from a T1 at 264kB/s CLEAN. and 120 kB/s & lower from the CABLE AND DSL users, which is very very good speed...

so give it a try...Restore the Default settings and see if that re-adjusts whatever happened to limewire to make the downloads slow...my theory is "a windows update altered the registry entries for limewire which caused the slow downloads"

here is a pic of what i did...I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS OUT like it did for me....

??? HAHA... this guy here is funny.... what you think your a program developer?

what i posted here DID work for me..and there is no reason why these other users can try what i did...i tried what others posted...
and it didnt work. so i tried somthing myself and it worked. so if i want to post information to try to help other users I WILL...

if your version of LIMEWIRE is working fine..then this post has NOTHING to do with you... PERIOD

*take my advice, read the title of the POST before you post a Unnecessary reply like you did....

you where no help.... A**

It *is* possible that restoring to defaults help. I've seen users unable to share some files even unfirewalled. Deleting everything LW and reinstalling did the trick so I believe some settings could interfere with others or even might be corrupted.

It worked in ']['echnics case, it might work for other weird cases too.

Allez en paix ;)

As I feel the downloads are not fast enough for me, I tried your method. Well, it didn't work for me. The downloads are still the same speed as before (0kb/s - 10kbs). Furthermore, I lost all my incomplete downloads.
