Disable uploading?

I read on a site that its best to disable uploading on limewire, so I did it, but I'm not sure its right considering it was coming from a chicago secureity site. Should I set my settings back to normal?

Well the whole point of p2p sharing is to share files isn't it? yes, for logical reasons, u should disable uploading because uploading consumes bandwidth if u leave LW on. but, if nobody shares then where r u gonna get files?

Iam intrigued to know how you knew it was coming from a Chicago Security site. All that should be showing is an IP address (unless you had prior knowledge).

Also, I think the trick is to use L/W for d/l but no other apps, then allow for u/l when you dont need to use the computer.

And if people still have problems with d/l speed, try this. After a chat with my ISP over slowed service of all my PC, they suggested d/ling SpyBot Search & Destroy. Made some difference but I don't know if modem users will be able to as a friend on a modem set-up said it cut his connection off when it tried to d/l patches.

Worth a go though.
