File Downloads I don't get it... As soon as a file is ready to finish, it starts all over again. I also get the message "Verifying File Contents"... What am I to do??? |
It means that the finished file doesn't agree with the hash of the file which was origingally downlded. There's a bit or byte or 2 which don't agree so LW tries to redownld that missing part. It will attempt to do it up to 6 times after which it will give up. |
Okay, I went and did something a bit weird. I set up a folder for Saved items, separate from my Shared folder, then copied my Incomplete files to the automatically created new Incomplete folder (and left the old ones where they were). Now the Incomplete window in LW displays the files in red text and only resumes them from 0%. I deleted the new folders, restarted LW and they still won't resume from the right point (my 'days to keep incomplete files' is set to 999). Moving the files was probably a stupid thing to do. But is there anything I can do about it? iMac g4 700mhz, OS 10.3.4, LW 4.8.1 |
Actually, don't worry. It appears that the downloads are resuming from where they should, though LW still says 0%. Strange, but at least I don't have to start again. |
