![]() I'm kind of mythed. I have Limewire Pro, I do a search for a file, fileABC.avi for example it brings up a nice result, the file might have 200 seeders. But I am only able to download from 10 of them at a time. I'm only managing a maximum of 140kb/s whilest I can manage to reach 1200lkb/s downloading from a local ftp, if I'm managing 140kb/s from 10 hosts I'd imagine I'd be able to download at 300~ from 20-25? So how do I increase this, or does hosts mean something else? I'm sorry if this is already posted I did a search for hosts/swarm etc, nothing came up. Please help. |

![]() You can't. If LW allowed more connections, you would swamp upload slots and that would only decrease file availability and download speeds for other users. Remember we all share our bandwidth, but sharing equally in the most efficient way is what is attempted here. If you want more speed or connections you might want to try Bittorrent which is specialized in sharing one file and without the network overhead. Ciao

![]() Perhaps it should be relative to how many upload slots you have open, because I generally just set it to 20-50, upload doesn't really effect my download because I just have so much unused bandwidth. The problem is, if I was connected to 10 T3 users I could possibly have massive speeds. At times I may be connected to 10 users and be downloading at 150kb/s other times those 10 users might all be 56k users and I would only get 15kb/s. I read somewhere that it connects to first available users with the fastest ping time, although this seems like a good concept I don't think it works out, I have tried stoping and starting the download 5-6 times within 15 min to see if I could connect to faster users, sometimes it would start again with 10 users and be going slow, other times fast. I just want to be able to get past that 150kb/s speed barrier. It seems to go 15, 30 , 45, 60, 70, 72, 73, 75, 80, 81, 82, 84, 86, 90, 100, 120, 125, 120, 118, 100, 130, 140, 137, 136, 120, 110, 90, 80, 50, and the cycle starts going up again. |

![]() Try the beta 4.9.3 of LW, you might get better speeds of those 10 hosts ![]() Ciao
