Probably the best way to go about it is to search the file topic again & reselect it to downld. You may see an icon next to it that has an open manilla folder or ripped/torn bit of paper. So select it again to downld. At worst, you can select it from the Library window>incomplete folder & use the resume function but this might mean it will start from 0%.

The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared
You can access it easily by going to LW's library window & selecting Saved Files folder & pressing the Explore button which will open this folder for you.

The incomplete folder is at the same directory level: C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\incomplete

Presently downlding files are in the incomplete folder. Did you read carefully what I suggested earlier? Don't touch the file from the incomplete folder. Just do things using LW. Search the topic again & reselect to downld. If that doesn't work then go to Library window & select the file & press the resume button.

By the way what was the error message you received? If it said the file is corrupt then you have a choice of continueing to downld or not to.

Not now no. Yeah that can happen with 2 windows of LW open. I've done it myself. But it's not healthy to keep 2 windows open so really you did the right thing. (Perhaps you should choose which one to close if it happens again. lol )
The other option you might think of is to backup the downld preferences once a week or so. Go to incomplete folder & make copies of download.dat & .bak files & move the copies somewhere else. These are your downld prefs. It won't make any difference now but might in the future.
I was a dial up user whilst using LW for 3 yrs so I know how difficult it is.

Default Word of caution

Don't do like I did... In the area of "how long to keep incomplete files" I put 0. In many programs, o means indefinitely. Not in Limewire. When I closed and restarted, the files that I had downloaded a portion of, were erased. Can't blame the program. It did exactly what I told it to.
