![]() Hi ,I have just downloaded Limewire.Installed & configured McAfee firewall to allow full access. All fine so far. I am running WinXP with modem broadband con with 33 k/s available. All went well for about two hours.I had all 33 being used on up & downloading. When I came back to check things out Windows was asking me if I wanted a download-I replied no(would do it later). Since this time I have been sharing a maximum of 10 k/s between upload & download. Any suggestions much appriciated. Hux |

![]() If you're running McAffee firewall then disable your XP firewall as they have been known to clash with each other (go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box.) Quote:

![]() Hi Lord, thanks for the reply. Windows Firewall is deactivated.I can't understand why the downloading was working fine topping 25-30 kb/s for a couple of hours and then the most i can get out of it now is 8-10 kb/sec.I haven't changed anything on my pc. up loads and downloads are working fine. All downloads are 4 star with 11 # thingies (I am a true techy as you can tell). They are just working alot slower than when I first started. Cheers Hux |

![]() As for XP SP2 see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=28427 & be aware there's both M$ & 3rd party patches which apparently allow more simultaneous connections. (SP2 reduces simultaneous connections.) |

![]() Just sorted a few things.Got ports 6346-9 sorted. Can only find one patch.Got the EvID4226Patch223d-en. This has cured my "can't get any constant downloading problem. I have now noticed that my initial download speed is fine but after a couple of seconds they go down by about 80%.This says to me something is monitoring it and then restricting. What is the other patch and do you have a link-i'll give it a try. Thanks for the help so far-its a lot better than it was. Oh-on each start up will i have to re-run the patch? Cheers Hux |

![]() No you should only need to apply it once. Other patch http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...419#post105419 Sounds suspicious. Hope it's not your isp filtering your LW. Who is your isp provider? |
