Also keep in mind the p2p client programs that might be a part of your sources. Some, such as Shareaza (RAZA) use most of their upld bandwidth on a different network, thus getting 0.01 to 3 KB/s from them is not unusual. (If you wish to see the clients you're downldg from, right-click on the top of the columns & select Vendor. This will show an xtra column.) Also sharing from multiple hosts, well some might just be offering a small amount each. Remember, if you have search or browse results still up you can reselect the file to downld after stopping it. This sometimes re-invigours the downld. More hints & skills about downlding here (see all the off-shoot links): To continue files downlding (click on link) As for isp's blocking or filtering speeds, well some are known to target specific programs. As you can see here: ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire |

ok go to these links and they might help you http://www.portforward.com/alcatel/st510.htm http://www.portforward.com/alcatel/st510v42.htm http://www.portforward.com/alcatel/st510alt.htm and click on what program you want to portforward for example limewire and follow the instruction for your modem If this didnt help then there is a problem with your ISP or your computer |

but why lilthugz? I mean why do I need portforwarding now and I didn't need it back then? this is what I don't get I called my ISP they told me nothing was wrong (of course I can choose to not believe them) and I don't remember doing anything to change the settings of my computer Can a virus or something exist that slows down just p2p?? |

Octavian try downlding a magnet link from this site here: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml & tell us what speeds you get. If you wish to see potential speeds you can get from that site then see Stief’s example: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...692#post138692 |

Definitely odd! That sounds not good! Ominous in fact! If not your isp then ... perhaps a connection device but hmm! This might not do anything but did you try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire It sounds more to me like your isp is using a p2p filter. Trying another client like Bearshare might be interesting. |
