I've been having the same problem. Out of the blue I stopped being able to download. My file just says "connecting...". I used to be able to get 3-4 songs at the same time in about 3 minutes. Now I start a download before work and it's about 1/4 of the way done after an 8 hour day! Someone help soon, please!!

Lightbulb little solution

i found that completely uninstalling the program and every file is the only way to get rid of the no connection problem.. then you'll have to reinstall the files.. if you have backed up the shared files to your computer then all you have to do is reintroduce them into limewire... hope it works

As long as you guys are sure that files aren't sitting connecting because they're fakes (new releases with heaps of sources), you could try deleting the LW preferences folder. bomb13, your problem sounds different to the normal fake files issue. Make sure LW's properly closed before deleting the folder, see points 2 & 3 below
Fixes for LimeWire

This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards
