Default Connection fine, turbo, won't download

Hi, i installed Mirc, had a play then uninstalled it. Now i cannot connect to a download. Everything was fine before this I was downloaduing at speeds in excess of 50.

I have deleted my preferences folder, reshared my folders and i now connect quality is turbo. People are uploading from me but when i download a file the status line say connecting...... after about 10 mins it says need more sources. This is on every file i try and download.

I have a Dsl connection at 2meg, ran dslreport and everything is fine. Also ran the test posted and got the window saying ok. I have checked the firewall settings, ok.

can anybody help??

Try downlding a magnet link file from here & tell us what speeds you get: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml Just click on downld & LW will take over. See Stief’s example: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...692#post138692 about what speeds you can potentially get.

Unhappy Boo Hoo

Thanks for that.

I have tried downloading from the page. Limewire starts, connects, goes Turbo. I get the file connecting, and about 10 secs after.... need more sources. I downloaded directly from the LW skins page with no problem, just won't connect to other sources.

Did the speed test 1083 kbps down and 227kbps up, but I didn't think to close MSN and Netscape down first, silly me, but even so we got a fair speed result from the test.

Do u need any other information from me?? Would it be worth me reinstalling LW?

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Do you use LW on a part of a network or shared modem/router?
12. Do you run other p2p share programs at the same time? Do you use Irc at the same time?
