Default Program Viruses

Hi everyone i just downloaded lw and tried to download a program. After it was done downloading i double clicked it in the library which took me to its file. I double clicked its .exe file and it said It had tried to give my comp a virus. This happened with every game i tried. can anyone explain?

Yes

Someone is seeding exe files with viruses and worms, possibly to destroy the network.

However, this is my own personal theory.

Stay away from exe and zip files.

Default Exes and Zips

If you must search for games, demos, etc, then make sure your virus scanner is always up to date.

As I said before, I believe that the record, software and film industry are trying to destroy the P2P network by planting viruses and worms in small files, exes and zips. Just as they have paid certain companies to seed the network with fake files. I personally set my LW to filter out exes and zips and I ignore small files.

However, if you must go after exes and zips, and you must, then make sure your PC is well protected.

Use the Bitzi search function to research a file before d/ling. Also make a notation of the file size. Once you have d/led a file and confirmed it to be a virus, send this iformation to the Bitzi network. And on size of file.....the 851's seem to be the biggest offenders so mark this as dangerous.
