So I got limewire pro... and I have to say I am very dissapointed. I noticed absolutely no increase in search results or download speeds. I checked the network statistics and I see there is never more than 5 or 6 current hosts, is this normal? The other thing I notice is that downloads will start and then just stop and then they will never start up again. I leave it running all day and come back to see that not a single file got downloaded because they all are "waiting on busy host" or "need more sources" very frustrating!!! I wish I could go to work and let limewire d/l these files but it seems it just won't work that way. Is there anything I should do to improve it. I have xp sp2 and a 3mb downstream connection, 3.2 Ghz processor and 1 gig of ram. So my speeds should be a lot better than 5-10 kb/s which is the maximum speed I get. My settings might be wrong - i have u/l limit at 70 kb/s |

See the following link & follow all the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to help solve your problem: To continue files downlding (click on link) Remember downlds is generally dependent upon your sources. Try a magnet link from this site & see what types of speeds you get: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml |

Thanks - I guess my problem is experienced by many others also. I want a way so that I can have it donwloading when I am not having to "babysit" by constantly searching for more sources. I thought pro users would get some preferance in the queues and in searching for sources, but it does not seem to be the case. Also is that only 5 or 6 active hosts normal, or is actually quite a low amount. Right now I am downloading a movie it is going at 60 kb/sec because it has 25 sources and it is T1. But most stuff with less than 6 or 7 sources always seems to be a real effort to download, but if it has many sources then it can do it by itself. I mostly like to download old cartoons which are quite rare, I wonder if there is some client/network better for such rare things... Cheerz |
