Default One more slow download thread

Ok, I have DSL, that can handle 4 MB (it's been juiced up by someone who works at the provider I know), I have done everything that all the other threads have suggested yet my movies max out at 40 KB, and stay lower, I know it's not that slow but I know it can be faster, any help would be greatly appreciated.

dude I have DSL and my speed is up to 7mb I think but when I download big files I have seen it past 50kb yet most commonly around 20kb.

Im rather fine with that because you gotta remember the 2nd parties bandwidth does play a part in speed as well.

And if they have DSL also then you're SOL because DSL's upload speed is nowhere as fast as it downloads.

Be happy.

It depends on allot of things such as the people you are connected to and what ther bandwith is just because it says cable or T1 does'nt mean you are going to connect to a high speed. I have cabel with pretty good DL capabilties 700kbs but I can only UL at 40kbs most companys limit your UL capabilties. Most of the time I limit my UL to 10 which means 40/10=4kbs per person all things being eaquil. So if you have 8 people UL to you doing the same as I do 8x4=32kbs. Really 40kbs is not bad if you were on dial up you would be getting a much lower DL speed. Hope this helps to better understand the network.

thanks, I just wanted to know if there was ways to make it higher, since some people talk about and have screenshots of like 100 kb and up. If I want to download files that fast what should I look for?
