A strange phenomenon just occured I had just finished downloading a movie (about 708 Mb's). It started to verify contents as usual, and counted to 98%. Then the whole program jammed, and i couldn't do a thing. I tried the ctrl/alt/delete thing (a.k.a. "The Swedish button"), which clearly showed the program as "running". Then, as if touched by a magician's wand, the thing started again, now downloading from 4 hosts at a startingpoint of 96%. ????? Minutes before it showed 100% and verifying up to 98% ???? Can anyone give a rational explanation to this? PS.: Just now i'm currently downloading from 1 host t a dl-speed of 0 Kb/s, and with no estimated end-time. DS. |
This happens every time DL a large movie file. I suspect limewire is gathering the incomplete information and copying a clean avi or mpg to your DL folder. Limewire will seem to freeze for 2-3 minutes when the file verication reaches 99%. I wouldn't worry about it. Note that it takes 2-3 minutes to transfer a file this large from one partition to another on your HDD. Again, this happens every time for me. Limewire always returns to normal. Just be patient... |

But, with an additional problem that is even worse.: It seems to be looping! It verifies up to 99%, then it starts dl again, from various startingpoints, and then when finished dl for the second time, the whole thing starts all over again. as you can imagine, (we're talking 700Mb files here), and given that dl can start at i.e. 25%, this takes more than a LITTLE time! YES! ,- I DO worry, and this is p**sing me off! When i previewed the movie, there was nothing wrong with it. It was, in fact, a premium quality DVD rip. (the elf). Please; If this is due to something i do wrong,- enlighten me. If this is due to something wrong with the program, then please, adm.: look into it as soon as you possibly can. Thanks! :( |
