can't watch movies.
 
ok, I can play any music or shory video clips that I download but When I try to play a regular movie that I've downloaded it tells me, "Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error." I used to be able to watch movies but now they all have this mesage come up. What's goin on.

I can watch movies everytime I turn on the TV. lol :D

Sounds like you need up to date codecs. I don't suppose you looked at the Sticky thread at the top of this section did you. It was put there for a reason. I'd recommend VLC.

Ok, I looked through the stickies and got the VCL downloaded. But, now there is another problem. When I try to watch the movies now the picture is like 5 seconds later then the sound and when It's played under the VCL window player the sound skips. I tried to find this problem in the stickies but did not really know what to look for. I appreciate the help so far and hope that you have another solution for me.

Not sure about your problem. Does this happen to all videos? Perhaps a disk defrag might help. If it only happens to one or 2 files then it might be due to poor encoding by the original owner. There's some cheap & nasty encoders out there that do have this effect.
