I agree. There is some major bug with the connections and search and download issue. I get the 1kb speeds from dsl and t1 user constantly. Poor search results that I did not encounter when i had basic. I pay $19 and get a worse product with email tech support which by the way has never responded other that their autoreply. I hope these problems are fixed soon or i'm movin on to something else.

limewire is currently undergoing some massive code changes, so just bear that in mind while using it. bugs are being fixed left and right, if you find yourself not being able to use the newer versions at all, you can downgrade to the older 4.8.1 version. or stay current with beta releases as they are released. the newer 4.9.xx versions are versions that have massive code changes and if they dont work, we would like to hear your comments and bug reports on them. the more bug reports we get, the better software gets!

so i hope to see you become one of the fellow beta testers and help us fix the bugs that are in these beta releases!

i would really hope you stayed with limewire, but im not going to beg you.

thanx

i would also like to ask the two of you what your setup is? do you have a firewall? router? if so, did you configure it correctly: like port forward or use upnp? if you have WinXP SP2, did you disable the firewall or exempt limewire from it being blocked? and if we could get a screen shot of what you mean by "not downloading" that would help us out to solve your problem or fix any bugs related. any information you might have would be wonderful to help us solve your problem.

i understand your frustration, but we can solve your problem if your willing to help us understand exactly what your doing to incurr this behavior from within limewire.

thanks.

Yes, I configured my firewall correctly using the TCP/UDP set-up people recommend here, and still nothing. My speed says turbocharged almost all of the time. I usually stays poor until i disconnect then connect again after all of my downloads have finished searching for more sources. Then I try to search and get few results unlike about 1 month ago. Even if I get strong results the downloads are still poor. Slow speeds or the typical "downloading from X# hosts" "speed - 0kb/s." Even when I have 5 or 6 even 7 hosts, i can barely excede 10kb/s.
I did however revert back to 4.8.1 Basic and this gave me much better results and download speeds up to 100kb/s. Its aggravating that I paid for Pro and Basic seems to work better. I hope these are bugs that are being worked on.
How do I take a screen shot to post? I'll be glad to if it helps.

Don't forget also that if you clicked no to the licence downlding & chose to always use that answer, then see Revert Popups to Default

That's a point I was slow to recognise being a problem for some people.

If generally you're having problems it might be wise to keep up with the latest versions (eg: beta versions.) But all the same, feel free to vote in my poll here Should LW 4.8.1/2 still be made available for those with problems (click on link). Not that it'll make any difference to the time of day but. lol
