Default does anyone knows which the best port?

im using limewire and the connections is just gr8!!!!!
but i need the best port to use in the software to get more better greater downloads!!!
the default port sucks as i think my isp blocked it so its damn slow! ive tried few ports like 1202 35842 26854 n more n its gr8! but which is the safest and best fast port to use? any idea? thankz mates.........LIMEWIRE Rulezzzzzzzzzzzzz

et voilà & Ursula would be best to answer this. But, if you're port forwarding then you should do it separately for both TCP & UDP. If not, then that doesn't matter. If port 6346 isn't doing well, then probably a high no. would be best. 40000 plus I think. But you can try these ones: 37404, 1203, 80, 20282, 443, & 40475.

but anyone can suggest one single port which is safe from trojans and any? the safest and fastest>?

The ports usually targetted by worms are below 1000 usually. Use any port that does not interfere with your other apps over 1000 and be happy. There are no faster ports.

If your ISP limits Gnutella traffic, you could try over the 10 000 range, but normally they can limit that traffic too. You better call them and ask for an exception for the limitation.
