Default Strange connection issue after port forwarding

Hi

I'm using limewire basic and I recently found out how to port forward my router, I believe it to have worked for limewire because before it stated it could sense a firewall but after PF it says no firewall detected.

However, When I open limewire I connect almost immediatly with a strong connection but this slowly drops and drops to almost nothing, when I try and serch no results are shown. I also notice my general internet connection is greatly slowled down and things like connected MSN messenger will disconnect.

I'm using BT voyager 205 router through ethernet
I have set a Static I.P up and portforwaded port 6346

Any ideas?

My guess is you are connecting as a ultrapeer and you are probably doing searches not to long after getting turbo charged. The newer versions of LW appear to me to be having a hard time staying connected to host when searching and DL there are times I will have 32 connections and when I start searching it will drop to 22. I have found if I will wait until I have 40 or so it will usual stay in turbo but not always. Some times it will never get to 40 so it is the luck of the draw there.
If you disable UP mode and connect in leaf you should not have this problem.
AS for slowing down your internet connection I have noticed this also. The only way I have found to cure this so far is to reset my router when I notice slow internet. It could also be the amount of bandwidth you have LW set to UL at it should be set at 75% to 80% of you connection capabilities if you are set higher than that you are using all your available bandwidth on LW. I am currently doing some testing playing with port settings but I do not know if that will help yet

Thanks, I tried disabling the ultra peer thingy but it doesn't seem to have an effect, I just tried searching for coldplay on a full connection strength and got nothing. Looks it must be something to do with my router because I'm getting similar problems with Ares.

Anyone else got the BT voyager 205, it SUCKS!

Thanks for your help
