Hi! Cant help you with your problem..but since I have almost the same problem as you, I will put it in here...

my LimeWire works just fine..BUT, the main problem is that I cant download any songs, or any files for that matter..no matter what I do it just wont download...I dont get any licence msg either..nothing happens..

if there is anyone out there that can help out, please share your thoughts... this is VERY frustrating...

Zeus >>>

I made it work...after I followed a procedure that Lord of the Rings put out in another thread, which I cant seem to find again...I will try to help you out, see if I remember anything..assuming you have win xp, cauze that is what I am using..

1. go to your C:/Documents and Settings/your-username/ and delete .limewire folder that is in there.

2. now go to your settings menu, and go to add/remove programs. Find your LimeWire and click on "Remove". There you should get an option wether to remove it or repair it. Press repair.(For some reason I couldn`t do this, I only got the options to unistall LimeWire, so I skipped this part..if you encounter same options as I, just skip this and go to no. 3)

3. Now go to your desktop and find your .exe icon u use to start your limewire. if you dont have a shortcut on your desktop, go to your limewire folder and right-click on the .exe icon there. Choose "Properties" and go to "Compatibilities"(not sure if it is spelled correct, but you will know what I mean)

If you are using anything newer than Windows 2000 you should choose "Windows 2000" in the scrollmenu.

I think thats all...if you are using mac or linux than I dont think I can help you out..if you are using windows, and still dont get it to work, than post here and I will try to find the original thread where this was posted..
