I am a new user to this and am looking for some HELP.
When I enter an artist name to download it brings up nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

there are a few reasons but the first one to look at is are you in fact connected to the network. There are coloured bars at the bottom left corner and they should all be blue or green if they are red you are not connected. You will not be connected imediately you switch limewire on, it can take several minutes. If you search to early you should get an error message, something like"waiting for stable connection". Best to leave LW on for 10-20 minutes before starting a search.

If this does not help have a read of the manual http://www.limewire.com/english/content/userguide.shtml and check you have done everything right and if you give up come back and some one will get you up and running

btw, the 10-20 min wait is for lower end pc's normally i connect and reach turbo charged the first few secs the UI comes up.

none of my pc's (9 in all) are lower than 1.5GHz

It seems to me that newcomers might think they can switch on LW and have their download as quick as it takes to load a web page. To encourage them in the art of patience will help them get out of the habit of being too impatient.

I start searches the moment the penultimate bar turns Green, if I'm in front of the single Mac But it's just as easy to leave it on for 10-20 mins and come back a little later, refreshed by a steming mug of hot coffee,.... which reminds me ....
