KBps Queries Hello Everyone I am relatively a newbie using Limewire and the whole P2P networking concept for that matter. My questions are: a) Whenever I am d/l mp3 files my bandwidth speed most of the time is in the range of 10 - 50 KBps (downloading from 3 - 6 hosts) and yet; b) when d/l avi files I can only get 1 - 12 KBps (downloading from 3 - 6 hosts). Why such great discrepancies between mp3 and avi files? I am using Limewire v. 4.8.1 Java v. 1.5.0_04 Type of Internet Connection: Wi-Fi (which is equivalent to Cable/Dsl, I guess) Limewire is in default configurations. Thank you. P.S. Is there any harm that may come to my computer if I leave Limewire running all day and night?, which I often do so I can finish d/l those large avi files. |
Good Day Still no replies from my queries? C'mon people, there must be someone out there who can answer my (simple?) queries. Recently I've been d/l whole mp3 albums and the results were amazing. My KBps are in the range of 20 - 60 KBps (this is d/l from 3 - 6 hosts) and the fastest being 70 KBps. Man, to me this is mind-blowing, since this is the fastest speed that I have achieved using this program. What is the fastest theoritical speed that one can achive using Limeware or any P2P client for that matter? Now, If I only could achive the same speed when d/l avi, mpg, etc........... |
