Question bumping off...

Hello,

It seems that when i am using Limewire on my home network, after a couple minutes or less, Limewire for some reason bumps me off my network and i have to actually reset (unplug and re-plug) the modem to get internet access again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

sounds like a network or router problem, but not LW. LW wont disconnect your network connection. im not sure what this problem is, but it may be a buggy router or modem that is not have a good flow control. you could try optimizing your MTU on winXP. how much will this help? i dunno.

thanks,

do you know what possibly might be wrong with my network?

I ask because while i use any other program that might connect to the internet or while i am simply using the internet in any other manner on this same network, everything works smoothy...in other words, i stay connected.

I only get disconnected while attempting to use LimeWire.

You attitude in your other post was a little rude to-wards ultracross and quite frankly un called for if you read the rules you should not have posted another thread. To answer your question When you are using LimeWire you are using allot more network resources than if you are just cruising the Internet and your try doing what ultracross said an optimize your network settings. It may and may not help you can GOGGLE speakeasy they have some tools and instructions on optimizing.
