Default opening LW files

many files are in an unplayable LW format, neither .wav nor mp3. I don't want to loose these downloads. In Mac 8.6 there is no player in the Tools>Option pull down as ref'd to in the guide. Wassup?

LW format ... what DO you mean!? LW does not DO formats! Using mac 8.6 might well limit your ability to play everything available as hardly anybody produces software for it any more.

You do not mention the file types you are having problems with.

If you get a file that cannot play, you will have to find an 8.6 compatible programme to convert it to a file type you can play ( you could always update to OSX)

Will an old iMac run OS X? I thought i needed a more mod machine for that.
Many files I get from LW don't play, just launch the app when I try to open them. The music ain't there. Some files will run as QuickTime mp3's, a few as Windows Media .wma's.

wma files need windows media player or can be converted using "easywma" google for it, but it may not be available for OS8.. the web site will tell you. Over half the ones I have got will not play anyway as they are protected, so I don't bother with them. You may find some files opem with Real Player. What is your default mp3 player?

I have a blue & white G3 Power mac Is your computer older than that? Not sure what works on what computer, but I tried to install Tiger and it doesn't seem to want to work even though in theory there should be no problem
