Default downloading w/ cable

high all, i have a cable internet connection, and i cant seem to download anything w/ a higher speed than that? when i search for a movie, all i get is results w/ a t1 or t3 connection... then when i try to download it, it says that i need more sources, even though there should be plenty. any advice?
