![]() I downloaded the new version of Limewire and now when I download more than 1 version of the same song, I get a msg that says "Filename taken" and I have to either save it as a different name or not download it. So now, I have to wait and see if that version downloads and if not, I have to go back and start over. This is very frustrating and I was wondering if I can get around this or if this is just how it is in Limewire now. I also find that songs just don't download anymore since I upgraded. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!! |

![]() As to your first question just stick an extra number or letter into the title to download it. you can easily remove it later. As to your second point ... I don't know ... Is this coincidence I'm not sure. |

![]() Wannerk Just to follow up what Hobo has said, the reason why two files of the same name can't coexist in the same folder is to do with your PCs operating system more than it is to do with LW. This is basic PC/computer stuff which you should have already known about. As for your second question: Quote:

![]() I know why there can't be two files with the same name in a folder, that is why I put my post up. I was able to download tons of songs with the same filename before, so I am wondering why it changed. I am using the newest version of Limewire, as I said before. |

![]() You are right I think this has changed, and I'm not absolutely sure. I have not noticed this before upgrading fom 4.8.1 but that's not to say it is a new innovation Versions change daily right now. This morning the latest was 4.9.28 I'm still on the old 4.9.27 ![]() |

![]() i have this problem to the old version used to stick a (1) or (2) behind files with conflicting names! why have they changed this very very veryveryveyrveyrveyvryrevyee frustrating! any one got any idea if its posibal to go back a version? |

![]() The MOST annoying thing about this new innovation is that it tends to happen after you've been using LW for a while and the computer has slowed down a bit. I find that the process of clicking either cancel, or changing the file name hangs Limewire for well over a minute UGH!!! |
