unable to download

I have been using limewire for about a year now. I have a new broadband connection, and when we first got it it worked fine. I changed the number of upload spots because my father was upset about the fact that people could access the computer easily and was worried about security. After I did this i was no longer able to download music so I changed it back and things were better. Now I can't even get search results,,and am pretty well unable to download music. The Windows firewall is set up right. Could this be a problem threw our router because it affects both our computers?

For a start, LW version 4.8.1 fixed any possibility of people having the remotest chance of accessing any other part of your computer.

Well, for a start you posted in the wrong section of the forums. The Bearshare section is intended for people with Bearshare problems not LW. Secondly it's obvious you ignored reading the Forum Rules (click here) before posting. We don't know any details about your set up so how are we supposed to help exactly?
