Ipod download problems also I am having the same problem. hp says if they play in itunes, they are not corrupt files. but the "convert" is greyed out in itunes so you are unable to convert the mp3 to anything else. I have looked in limewire and can't find anything to help or "convert" the files either. It is NOT an IPOD problem since you can download files from cd's. And this place is 100% IPOD compatible. I am not finding this a very pleasant way to begin a relationship. any answers??? I have emailed limewire support and if they are like the typical email support, they will have me try something I already have. then I'll waste another 24 or more hours waiting on them again. I guess I should know better than to believe anything you see as an internet claim. get your money and run..... anyone having answers, please email me jim33714 AT msnDOTcom. thanks |
You are confusing me. I've no idea what post you are referring to. The forum rules which are for everyones benefit have it seems not been read by you, and you have given your e-mail address out in the forum which is one thing that the rules say you should not do. replies will not be sent by e-mail ... well I hope not anyway! clear questions get clear answers for all to see. a search button above allows people to browse the forums for help. Please join a thread already set up and relate to that or start your own thread stating your problem clearly. There are a lot of helpful people on this forum, far more than on some very large forums, I might add, but.... please .... give them a chance to help you. |
sorry about that. but I saw her post about the same problem and wanted an answer from anyone that had one. I think my post was clear enough about the problem... can download from limewire to itune but can't download them from itunes to the ipod. not a good format and no way to convert them.. Not happy with this place so far and think I got ripped. Thanks for your info tho... |
ok I don't know who hp is. also I don't know if you are on Windows or Mac. I don't think this is a Limewire problem. I don't know what "this place is 100% iPod compatible means" you say " not a good format and no way to convert them" that has me stumped .... and "Not happy with this place so far and think I got ripped" ... what is that about??? and yet I'm going to try and answer you question ... I think. but I use Mac and my reply may not be apprpriate for a windows user. My limewire downloads are saved in my iTunes folder and they load into iTunes (usually) automatically, into a playlist called Limewire. These are mp3s I'm talking about. I have certain of my cds in a playlist on iTunes called CDs. I plug my iPod in and it is not big enough to hold all my iTunes tunes, so I get a message asking if I want iTunes to select tunes for iPod. I click No. I select my CDs playlist and my Limewire playlist to load into iPod. I click ok. They both load into iPod end of story. In windows I believe you may have to manually load the Limewire tunes into iTunes, and possibly you also need to create the Limewire playlist yourself, but maybe they have fixed that now. I really have no idea if this helps, but I have tried. Limewire support is available for pro users with Limewire problems. I like to think that these forums give better support than a small and overstretched limewire team can, and the huge archive of posts is excellent, and has a search feature to find you're way arond! I would recommend you to try getting ANY response out of Apple's "lack of helpline service" and totally unfathomable disscussion group set up, so that you might realise how good the Gnutella forums are. One last point that perhaps you tried to put was that you were trying to use iTunes to convert some file type to another. If there are no tunes highlighted (not just visible) in iTunes the "convert to mp3" option will be greyed out. |

Your problem, you should not need to convert any files to get them onto iPod. Not unless they're in RealPlayer or WMA format or something. iPod will play mp3, m4a, aiff, apple lossless, wav. Learning how to use your iPod is 1st & foremost. Like anything of that nature you buy. You should learn how to use it. We even provide easy samples on the forum to show how to get music onto iPod. You must transfer it to iTunes 1st. It needs to be within the actual iTunes Music Library. So it needs to be properly imported. How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) |
whatever u guys said it didn't help at all. i'm having the same problems too. when i try to drag limewire tunes onto the library in itunes it won't let me drag it!!! |
limewire totally ripped me off. to put it on my ipod i have to burn it onto a cdrw and then put it onto my ipod but then it says track 1 and track 2 and stuff |
someone help me and jim!!! |
i am a windows user and limewire just ripped me off |
I got ripped...... I am not a moderator on these boards. If I was you would be banned permanently, mind you this thread is the best place for your double or 8 fold tirade. You are in good company with jim here. Please go away and read what I said inthe other thread and return if and when you have something sensible to say. |
