download seize up

With LimeWire 4.9.28, all the files in the search result list are not response when I double click to download, I was tried the following 3 methods to make the download activate, but all failure.
1.) Double click the file in the search result list.
2.) Highlight the file and right click to choose download.
3.) Highlight the file and click the download button (with green down arrow) in the bottom of the LimeWire window.
Is there anyone met such situation like this before? Thanks!

What OS are you using and are you behind any firewalls?

Hi Sphinx,
I'm using the platform of Windows XP Professional SP2 all the way, the previous version of LimeWire 4.8.1 is working fine
with this platform. And I have direct connect with internet without any router connection, I was checked the setting for
my Sygate firewall, it's anything ok for LimeWire 4.9.28 and even I didn't make any change. Please help, thanks!

I'd suggest you see this Licence requirement (click on link)

If that's not the answer then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

BTW you should not have 2 active firewalls. They can interfere with each other. Disable XP's firewall: go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box

See the link at the bottom of the page here to configure Sygate to allow Limewire & port 6346 & Java: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Lord of the Rings,
Thanks for all the enthusiastic, detailed and helpful info., but I can't get change even a bit, the download still seize up, & I
don't want to waste too much time on it, so I prefer to go back to use the version 4.8.1. By the way, many thanks for the help! :-)
