newbie-can people upload from me?

Hi, I'm new to limewire and new to the whole sharing thing. I want to make sure that I am sharing. Not that I have that much to share. I have read from forum, FAQ and using limewire but there is not anyway to tell if anyone is able to upload from me. I can download fine. Here's my info Dell dimension 3000, XP home sp2, lime wire basic 4.9.28, cable connection, firewall zonealarm. On the monitor I see searches and in shared folder I see hits. Problem with tool/options everything is cut off on the rightside. Zonealarm is listening to port 6346 and limewire program has full access to internet. When I went on the internet and checked my port 6346 gnutella was listed. So I think I can share but want to be sure I set everything up right. If I missed any needed info let me know. Thanks.

If you see incoming and outgoing mesaging traffic in your Connections then everything should be OK. Look in your music library to see how may attempts have been made to U/L your files. If you see a whole bunch of attempts and no completions, then maybe your ISP like mine (Cox) is blocking the U/L attempts. If so it may be time (for all of us) to look in to a new method of file sharing unless the Gnutella protocol gets updated ASAP to combat this huge threat. BTW you should really be posting a LimeWire question in the LimeWire forum, not the Bearshare forum.

Thanks Kent,
I thought I was postings in Limewire, I just saw upload/download problems and posted there. I did see the bear logo but thought it was an advertisement. Is there anyway to move post to the right place? I went to library, first time I saw anything in upload column other than 0/0, one song has 1/3 and in the location column it has the #3 also. What does the 1/3 mean? And what does the 3 mean in the location column? Was the person able to get the song? As you can tell I really do not know alot abot this. Thank you for your help.

I think the 1/3 is three attempts to U/L and one complete U/L

Well if one made it then I guess I can upload.:D I hope that is the case, because I want to do the right thing and share. Thanks again Kent for your help.
