![]() Ok, is there anyway that I can get the version of limewire BEFORE i upgraded to the new version. Because at the moment it seems that theres a lot of problems with this new version when it comes to downloading things which didn't exist before. Can this be done, or can someone please tell me how to actually be able to download stuff. I've done the whole: goto tools > options > searching > basic > and tick "show license warning" there is also a typo because it says "Clear Downloads" instead of "License Warning" [edit] this typo has been fixed in the latest released version. [/edit] you can also goto tools > options > view > popups > and click revert to default. But its still not working for me. So is there something else I could do, or is there anyway to get the version I was using before this one. Any help will be appreciated!! |

![]() Are you using 4.9.29? and what were you using before? You don't say if you are using Windows or Mac. It is always a good idea to move an old version to a safe location before installing a new version, but this is not helpful to you this time around! ![]() On Mac I tend to keep a pile of old installers hidden away, and I'm not sure how or if this might work on windows. Let us know a few more specifics and for instance are you getting NO downloads at all or what? and we should be able to get you up and running one way or another. I also understand old versions may be available from www.filedonkey.com, but I would advise you to search the forums for more information on that. Most reports seem to indicate 4.9.29 is running well, so check first of all if that is what you have. |

![]() I'm sorry lol, I was a bit stressed when i wrote that that I did the schoolboy error of not including any decent information ![]() I'm running version 4.9.28 thought that was the newest one as only installed that like 2 weeks ago and see if that helps ![]() ![]() |

![]() Right so I installed .29 and im still having the same problem... Basically my downloads aren't downloading. I can search fine, but most of the time the downloads wont start (well it says they have, but theyre only running at 0kb/s, or they go up to 4kb/s MAX and then come all the way down to 0kb/s. This doesn't matter who i download from - its always this situation. Another problem I have is that since upgrading whenever I do click on something to download i always seem to get the message 'need more sources' or 'waiting on busy host'. If i don't get these messages then then above happens. Also since I've upgraded, it seems that I can't download files with the same name because the 'file name is already taken'. |

![]() In your first post I think it should read untick "show license warning" I don't know what sort of thing you are downloading music, videos or programmes and please don't post any specifics, just film/video/mp3 is fine but I do have a theory borne out by seeing other posts that Limewire is picking up less in searches because possibly it is managing to weed out some of the rubish before we see it. I also gather that the firewall settings are not quite the same, but I'm not too sure what the details are. I advise you to find the stickies on this issue and check them out. .....There are a number of stickies at the head of various forums and I think checking through them to see if anything might fit your problem. You still haven't said which version you were using or what platform and OS you are on, so when you post again go to the forum rules at the top of the forum page and list everything as it suggests there. Yes there are ways of getting older versions, but let's try and sort your new version out first. I am using 4.9.29 and I can not fault it.(yet) ![]() The same filename thing is a slight pain, but you just alter or insert a letter or number and the problem is sorted, (except it takes a while for the process to complete on occasions. |
