Default Material downloaded won't play

I searched on this came up empty. If I download a file, when I go to launch it, it will not play. Some will and some won't. Am I doing something wrong? I need help. I'm a new user. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you read through these. The first link is about Viruses on the network which from reading your post there is a good chance you may have already downloaded one and opened it. Thus infecting your computer.

I already did a virus scan. Nothing came up. I'm clean. If I click on the let's say a song that's in my playlist, it won't play it. In the box that is in the bottom right corner of the screen. It will flash and then nothing. I've downloaded and downloaded and nothing will play. Do I need to send it some where else to play?

Try going straight to a file and selecting open with .... some other media player ... Real player for instance ... or any thing else you have. If this work, deselect Limewire player in preferences. If it does not, it seems like bad files... there will always be a few!. Let us know if this helps
