80 kpbs files will not produce sound I have searched but have not found answer this. I'm sure its simple - and I am stupid but.... Every 80kbps file I download will not produce a sound. When I play the file on any of PC players, the progress bars move left to right indicating the file is playing, but no sound comes out. Why? Also I cannot convert these kpbs files to WAV files. Is there some type of setting I need to make? Other than this every non-corrupted file I download works fine. Thanks for any suggetions. |
well, sometimes files do get corrupt and if they are, it might make it harder to convert to wav, you might need to trim the MP3 if its an MP3 file at the end then try to convert to wav. Have you checked your sound card/drivers lately? run some tests while not lin Limewire to make sure you got sound. are these MP3 files or in another format? |
Sphinx, thanks for you ideas. I have a comment and a couple of questions. The comment: all MP3-80kbps file which I have downloaded will not play, so I do not think the problem is corrupted files. I have had to trash at least 20-30 such files. I am using a Soundblaster PCI card, which came originally with my PC. How do I check this card to see if its the card driver's problem (all other files seems to play just fine when I am using it). Last question: how does one "trim" an MP3 file? Thanks for the additional help. |
