:o
Can we ask admin and or the developer/s of Limewire to give
serious consideration to including (if poss) an option to block
those well known bad download files with the size 851.7KB,
765.5KB and 399.0kb, so that they do not load.
I know it does not guarantee not getting infected, but it does
diminish it...........has this been considered before!!!

Thanks for the response.

Nice to know I am on the right track! and I would think that the
code writers can come up with what is required.

As a long serving member can you advise what speed settings I
should use, I am on 1.5gb / 512KB ......I think I have to divide my
connection speed by 8 which gives me 187KB down and 64KB on
the upload ?

Thanks.

The speed setting in limwire serves, to my knowledge, to do no more than indicate to others what speed you are using. You may have a T1 connection but you can indicate you are a modem for what ever reason. But some people prefer to not down load from a modem ... I think you catch the drift.

Yes I've been around here for a while but I remain somewhat confused by KBs and kbs and I know the number 8 comes into it ... One day I will crack it, but to date I have managed to operate my Limewire with excellent results witout mastering the speed rate subject :)

There are 2 stickies at the head of the forum, one which leads into many others ....which you should find useful and interesting.
