Cannot download the same file twice ? Here is my little story. I was downloading multiple files at once when my computer suddenly crashed for whatever reason. It restarts , everything seems fine , I start LW again and low and behold "Limewire was unable to resume some of your downloads." or something like that. Well , I was a little irritated but hey , I can always go get them again right ? Apparently not. When I search for the file I get the same results as before , the 4 Stars with 200+ which I had downloaded before is still there (as it should be) but instead of the 4 stars , there is a folder icon. Having downloaded alot of files before I know that it turns into that icon when you have downloaded the file already. What I did NOT know was that unlike the Incomplete icon , this one can't seem to be reinitiated. Everytime I click on it or right-click Download/Download As , it says I already have that file , which I obviously do not. Now I want to know : is there a way to start that download anew or not ? Normally I would simply get the 2nd best result and go with that...but in this case , only the one I already "downloaded" has more than 1 host or is the right file type or file size. Help....please... |
Limewire resume functions doesnt work in my opinion. I have yet to resume in Limewire. May I ask what version you are using? You should be able to redownload it though. Thats what I usually have to do. Personally, I wish LW came with a push or ping feature but, I have yet to see this in basic anyway. Without ping, there doesnt seem to be a way to restart lost downloads or incomplete files. Anyway, try to refresh Limewire. reboot your computer and see if it clears up. |
You will have to delete the file from your hard drive, then you should be able to download it again. |
yeah, what Grandpa said. You can delete the incomplete files from your Library and they will go to the bin. :) :D although, sometimes when I refresh I can redownload the same file, providing the host is online. |
