![]() I was downloading a large movie over the course of several days and was at 62%. I did some disconnecting and reconnecting of my cable, and when I looked back at Limewire, the download progress was at 0%! How can this happen? Is it possible that the preference for # of days to keep incomplete files (I set this at 2) caused the file to delete itself? But I think I had already been downloading it for more than 2 days anyway. Another related question is, why does the file size of the incomplete download show the full size (600 MB in this case), when only a small portion of that has been downloaded? |

![]() Did you try selecting the file in the Library->Incomplete list, and using the resume button? The file size of an incomplete depends on which chunk downloaded. If the chunk is one of the last pieces of the files, your system will report the file as if all the other chunks have arrived already, because the in-between blocks have to be reserved too. |

![]() vers 481 machine hung but then recovered. i exited and reentered lm, progress = 0% on 95% of files. most worried that lm is recreating files and starting from 0. second concern is that the file will be corrupt. if the files will continue to download and simply give me incorrect % complete, i can deal w/ that.... i have some adult files that are quite large and dont want to lose, i download w/ music and whatnot while i catch up on the news of the criminals in the whitehouse in amerikkka. one thing i have not done and will have to wait is a reboot but seriously do not think that will solve this. cant rb because the machine wipes out all files loaded prior (i dwnld to a portable hdd). most everything is waiting for dwnld but a few files i know are huge are growing in size, percent reset to 0% larger to 5-7-8 whatever.... but will the file corrupt or reload the whole bloody thing on top of the orig. i have also paused all, exited and resumed via library - no luck. im in thailand so time on machine = $$ peace out peeps ~ tje |

![]() I have no idea if this would work or not, but I was thinking about your problem of losing your 62% file. I used to go weeks working on a file download so I can share in your pain. Losing it like that is crap and I've been there....sucks monkey-butt. Anywho....I have W98 right now, but I used to have XP and when I had that system there was a feature I wish I had on this operating system. Maybe you could try the system restore button located in your control panel. For example, you could set your computer back to the day it went buh-bye. Maybe it will work.....just an idea. |
