![]() SORRY SEEMED LIKE THE BEST WAY TO CATCH YOUR EYE... I USE LIMEWIRE. I DONT DO MUCH DOWNLOADING BUT I DO MAKE MY DJ MIXES AVAILABLE FOR UPLOAD. I DO SEEM TO GET A LOT OF HITS BUT NO-ONE DOWNLOADING. I ASKED MY MATE TO DO A SEARCH FOR MY MIXES FROM HIS COMPUTER, WHILE I WAS LOGGED IN OF COURSE, AND THE SEARCH STRING CAME UP BLANK. SURELY IF IM LOGGED IN WITH 28 MIXES ALL WITH THE SAME DJ NAME IN TITLE AND HE SEARCHES FOR THAT NAME, HE SHOULD GET 28 HITS......NO. AM MY BEING STUPID..DO I NOT QUITE HAVE MY HEAD AROUND THIS P2P THINGY....I HAVE OPENED UP ALL AVAILABLE BANDWITH TO UPLOADS MANY THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES P.S. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) Make sure you have plenty of upld slots & available upld bandwidth for DC/browsing. If still prob's after this then: Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.

![]() thanks for you reply mr lotr bug report is true firewall re-installed and recon all upload settings r full im not downloading at present so all downloading settings set to bare minimum xp,norton,768 ram,30 gig,broadband,scientific atlantic webstar dpx 100 series, dont know what a router is dont think i have 1,home,lw 4.9.3,telewest blueyonder broadband (prob wont meen anything to u if your outside uk) not sharing with anything or any1 im going to try again since ive re-installed my firewall. thought id give u the details you asked for incase there anything obvious thanks for your sub |
