angeladcoleman your question is already answered if you saw the links that Only A Hobo left in his post.

All the ones I imported were mpeg. But I'm experimenting for iTunes rather than iPod! But apparently there's several formats that can be used (excluding most if not all avi.)

format

I was able to get one video in itunes but not yet on my ipod. Also I spent $30 last night on software that is supposed to change the format for your ipod "videora ipod converter" and I can't figure it out. So I can still use HELP. It is appreciated. Also, I wanted to download from Limewire, but I don't know how to convert them from there either.

Neither Only A Hobo or I have a visual iPod. Mine's a shuffle, my partner's a larger one but still no visual. It might be an idea if you ask on the iTunes/iPod forum & then post back about their responses so it can help others who have the same query. Keep in mind there's specific sections on that forum for iPod windows, iPod for mac, iTunes for windows, iT. for mac, etc. iPod Forum (click on link)

As I suggested earlier, all my video clips were mpg's. At least a few of those were supposed to be mpeg1 according to one program utility but I have doubts. But apparently iPod is a little more fussy than iTunes from what I can gather from the links I read from OAH.

Ah I did find this thread http://forums.ipodlounge.com/showthr...hreadid=128658 which suggests there's already lots of threads about the topic. So follow the smell of importing videos on their forum.

Quote from apple discussion:

To use Videora iPod Convertor to convert movies for use on your iPod, consult these helpful links:
To get started: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
If you have questions: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html
If you have more questions, post them here: http://www.pspvideo9.com/forums/index.php?c=8

Download and use Videora iPod Convertor. It's a different program than Videora (and removes most of the options that are currently confusing you with Videora).

Note that Videora iPod Convertor is a 3rd party program. If you need help with it, post your question there.

Video To Ipod

I have the 5th. Gen. of Ipod (Music/Video/Photo) and using Nero Recode was able to install in Ipod via Itunes to play.

Works great. Quality and Sound perfect. No need to purchase if you have Nero.

If you have your Ipod plugged in via Itunes then drag and drop the video in to Itunes and this should transfer to your Ipod. I did try this method and it worked fine. Used Nero Recode to convert to Nero Digital.

Thanks, I finally figured out how to use videora to convert the formats and get the videos to my ipod. It took a few days playing around, but I got it.

Nero didnt work?

Hi there zimer...

I downloaded(and recieved update on nero pro, $29.95 version) and used nero reocde 2...then I imported a limewire music vid file, added it, then pressed burn...saved it, then dragged anddropped it and I also tried importing file with the same results...it finally transferred to my ipod, but the file did not transfer properly and I can barely see the video? is there some setting I need to press to get the proper video transfer..i even tried running a second pass with no imporvement in the vid quuality? I even tried 2 other videos with the exact same poor results..I assume it must be with some setting when it transfers tot he mpeg4 file?

thanks for your help
Joe

Use Nero Recode, choose "Recode DVD/Videos to Nero Digital". Go to afterdawn.com and look guides or search "ipod". Yes, settings must be set to work.
If I look videos, I always look for mpg or mpeg. I converted "Madagascar" and several other Music videos.
Entire Guide is listed on afterdawn.com
If no luck, message me and I will find for you.

There are no codes to install. Go to guides and search for "Ipod".
Here's what I have:
Open Recode2
Click "Recode Video Files To Nero Digital" (4th option)
Click Import Files on the right
Go down the list and select file (where you saved the mpeg/mpg file)
Click add file
Click More at bottom left
In drop-down box to bottom right "nero digital profile" select portable (meaning ipod)
Unselect Fit to target
Click next
BURN
--------
Click Nero Digital Settings to the left
Then check the box Expert Mode
Encode method "High quality encoding - 2 pass
Quality/Speed, select Extra quality in performance/quality box
Advanced, check simple profile box
Click burn.

Depending version of Recode, menu/boxes will differ.
I tried above on Recode2, was able to burn "Madagascar", Music video etc.
Give this a try or send me your email address I can send the guide what I found from afterdawn.com.

Zimer
