Vanishing Uploads and Interrupted Transfers
 

I have been using LW for 2+ years without having any files uploaded. I upgraded to PRO last month and discovered these forums.

After reading threads from other users, I realized that changing the options in Tools would make it simple for other users to download from my machine. So, I set my machine to no bandwith for downloads, all b-w to uploads and 1 slot for uploads.

My machine is firewalled with Zone Alarm and this works fine for both uploads and downloads. I never down and up load simultaneously. And I don't do other things on the computer during uploads. Usually I leave about 3 hours for uploads.

The uploads which are set to allow 6+ KB/s don't seem to go faster than 2 KB/s, although downloads do go 6+ KB/s. 9/10 interrupt and most do it extremely quickly. Sometimes though the interruption will be at 92%. I have tried leaving 2 or more slots open, but then the upload rate usually is 1 KB/s.

Finally, I have had more than 15 successful uploads, but the upload column in my Library shows 0/0 for every file. Some of these files are rare and obscure and I know that thev've been successfully and unsuccessfully uploaded from my machine.

I get great satisfaction from the uploads and any suggestions for these problems would be greatly appreciated.
