Although this doesn't happen often, I have found this to happen sometimes.

Now, my Max Uploads Slot is 3 and the max number of uploads per user is 1. If there's a large queue or someone in the queue just wants to download a really small file, I will usually temporarily increase that, but that's not the point.

However, once I found that the same IP address was downloading FOUR files at once! That's more than one user should be doing and more uploads than there should be. Is it a glitch or something? It isn't often this kind of thing happens (it's happened maybe only three times), but I'm curious as to how/why it's happening.

As long as I'm asking, there's something else...if I click "kill upload", I know that stops the upload. But does it prohibit the person from ever uploading that file from me?

Also: I do share files, of course, but if I'm not sharing enough files for someone to not classify me as a freeloader...what exactly happens? Do their files not show up on my searches? Do they show up but if I try to download them it automatically rejects me, giving me a "need more sources", or what?

Well, I don't claim to be an authority but here is my best guess. First, when you kill an upload, as I understand it, that only serves to stop the current upload (for priority purposes, or if they are just filling up your slots with no action). If you want them gone permanently I think you can ban them in your options. Second, If you are a freeloader and a host doesn't allow freeloaders I don't think you will get any results from that person at all. And last, regarding a person having more uploads than you permit, I don't know how that can happen but maybe they are waiting in line with the extra slots. Anyway, that is my best guess. Have fun.

Mano' the world is right about killing uploads. You used to be able to block hosts by right clicking on a file in the monitor/upload window. I have a feeling you cannot do that now. Yes ..you can block or unblock in options>filters>host, but do not try to enter the port number (the one after the colon)

The freeloader option does not afaik work although some people seem to find they can make something happen by fiddling with the settings.

Just remember that you might try to browse a host and get no results, and you will assume that they are a freeloader. This is very often not the case, and for a vairiety of reasons like firewalls or sheer bad luck, or the fact that they share fom a different machine, they might, wrongly, appear as freeloaders. So ..someone might browse you and get no results and assume you are a freeloader and block you. If they do I am not sure what you will see at your end, but I assume it is "need more sources" but future searches will not include results from that host, as man o' the world said although this might not take effect instantly.

I have seen this upload problem once or twice, and have no explanation, and the problem has not repeated itself after a restart.... but just check if only one file is downloading at any time, from the host. If they have lined up a number of files, the transfer on one might get interrupted, and another one which was lined up might start, and you might think they are both downloading at the same time...
