Huge virus

Im pretty sure you all are aware of the viruses p2p can give you.
Well i stumped onto this neat virus today. When it runs, it makes about 30 more of the virus in ur shared folder with differnt RAR names.

For example
Black and white
Clone Cd
Jarhead

and when poeple downloaded these, and ran the exe, the virus would open and start making more rars with differnt program names. I didnt notice i had the virus untill 10 mins ago.

Sorry to say, it said about 100 people total already downloaded some programs off me.

I have no clue if it has other effects on your computer, but i know when i had it, my computer was slow, IE barly worked, and it ate up all my internet connection.

Anyways, do your best to remove these types of programs limewire! :D

Good words ... but I must take you up on: "do your best to remove these types of programs limewire!"

Remember Limewire connects users to send or take whatever files they wish off each other. Limewire cannot control the types of programmes people download, and whilst various attempts are, apparently, being made to filter this junk out of search results, it is up to every user to do what they can to protect themselves from viruses, and do what they can to stop the spreading of viruses.

Disconnect you internet and run a virus scanner and get rid of all that crap. I cannot believe how many people actually have these files sitting on their Hard Drive - I have downloaded a couple by mistake and my virus scanner picks it up and deletes it straight away.

I am using Symantec AntiVirus.

No AntiVirus App?

Although I am more than glad that you have owned up to accidentally spreading a virus, still I am somewhat surprised that you seemingly do not run an AV app.

Most people know that it is virtually PC suicide not to run an anti-virus app when on the internet or P2P network especially as you can get an AV app for free.

So I strongly suggest that you now protect your PC with a firewall and an AV because by doing that you not only look after your own PC but you protect the P2P network as well.

I have windows 64bit with 3 differnt firewalls. I have a nod32 and trendmicro anti virus, and for some strange reason they didnt find the virus. It's kinda strange.
